Dietary restrictions don’t have to be a drag. Anna’s endless flavor possibilities make it easy to create a delicious meal to suit a variety of dietary needs and tastes.
Here’s a look at some of the dietary preferences and options we can accommodate:
ALLERGIES
Before placing your order, please inform your server if you or anyone in your party has a food allergy. For specific information, see our allergen table.
VEGETARIAN & VEGAN
Substitute any Anna’s menu option with grilled vegetables or rice and beans (pinto, black, or refried) for a vegetarian-friendly meal. Our Mexican rice is made with chicken broth, but vegetarian rice is always available at your request. All of our sauces are vegetarian. Vegans can consult our allergen table to see which dishes contain eggs and dairy.
GLUTEN INTOLERANCE & CELIAC DISEASE
Almost everything on our menu is gluten-free, except our flour tortillas. Corn tortillas are available and all chips are corn-based. To cut down on the possibility of cross contamination that is common in any kitchen environment, please alert your server of an allergy before ordering and they will be happy to change gloves at your request. For more info, please visit our allergen table.
DAIRY INTOLERANCE
We won’t judge you for leaving cheese off your burrito or quesadilla. Sour cream is a secret ingredient in our guacamole so for a tasty, dairy-free alternative, add sliced avocado or spicy guacamolio to your meal. Before placing your order, please inform your server if you or anyone in your party has a food allergy. For more info, see our allergen table.
LOW-FAT
Avoid adding dairy products such as cheese and sour cream and opt for a whole wheat tortilla to keep the fat content of your burrito to a minimum. Just say no to the greasy, cheesy goodness of a quesadilla. Favor grilled vegetables over extra meat or go half-and-half. Tacos are proof that portion control can be delicious, and Mexican plates leave plenty of room for mixing and matching.
LOW-CARB
Anna’s menu has a variety of low-carb, high-protein options. Mexican plates offer the most options for limiting grains and starchy vegetables in exchange for meat, selected vegetables, beans, and lettuce. Salsa, guacamole, and our selection of hot sauces pack plenty of flavor without the carbs. If you’ve just gotta have a burrito or taco, opt for whole wheat or corn tortillas.
KID-FRIENDLY
Kids love Anna’s! Cheese-only quesadillas (large wheat tortillas) and mini quesadillas (small corn tortillas) have been family-friendly favorites for decades. Easily divide into smaller portions for little hands and pair with healthy salsa or guacamole for fun dipping. Need to keep ingredients separate for kids who don’t want their food touching? It’s like our small containers were made for picky eaters (and those who love leftovers). Just tell us which grilled vegetables you want and skip the ones you don’t. Tacos with just a few ingredients are also kid (and parent) approved for easy handling. We even offer complimentary laundry services after every meal. We’re kidding. You’re on your own with that.
SPICE UP YOUR LIFE
No one does flavor like Anna’s. From mild to brow-sopping blazing, our spiciness index ensures there’s a taste for everyone. Add any or many of our sauces to your burrito, taco, quesadilla, or Mexican plate to kick your order up a notch. Spicy fillings include chicken ranchero and steak en salsa roja. Add hot sauce, chip salsa, salsa roja, or guacamolio for even more heat. Not for the faint of heart, our chile verde, salsa ardiente, and habanero sauce bring the fire.
MAKE IT MILD
Mexican food doesn’t have to be fiery to be flavorful. Forgo the hot sauces and stick to basic fillings like rice and beans, grilled chicken, steak, grilled veggies, carnitas (roast pork), or lengua (beef tongue). For just a little spice, a dash of our house hot sauce will do you fine.
LOVING OR LOATHING CILANTRO
Perhaps the most divisive flavor in the culinary world is the humble cilantro plant. Our pico de gallo and salsa are chock full of cilantro but we do offer diced tomatoes and other cilantro-free alternatives for those who prefer their Mexican meals without. Our chefs recommend adding sour cream to salsa-free meals to preserve flavor and moisture.
