We operate SafeLink, the statewide domestic violence hotline, and promote domestic and dating violence prevention through awareness and education. All of our supports are provided to survivors free of charge. We support survivors of any race, ethnicity, language, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, disability, age, and sexual orientation.
  • Maria Mulvihill – For the last 20 years, I have worked with survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse, so I am honored to be raising funds as part of the Casa Myrna Boston Marathon 2025 Team! I began my career in college when I interned at a local domestic violence shelter and after college as a DV/SA advocate for several years where I helped survivors navigate the criminal and civil court systems. After becoming a police officer, I founded my department’s first domestic violence response team (DART), where we would follow-up after DV calls to make sure that victims/survivors were informed of all of the resources available to them and assist in building a positive relationship with law enforcement if they did need help in the future.

Liz is proud to run on behalf of survivors and Casa Myrna and to advocate for awareness around domestic violence throughout the community.

Charity Roller: Astrid Larson

Running for: Boston Medical Center

  • As for the charity, in short, the funds go directly to the Boston Medical Center(BMC) food bank, community teaching kitchen, family financial literacy classes, and pediatric mental health efforts but here is what the website reads in more detail:
  •  BMC is not only home to world-class clinicians and innovative treatments—we also are pioneers of programs that impact lasting good health. Over the years, more than 1,100 Team BMC athletes (Marathon runners fundraising for Boston Medical Center) have raised more than $9.5 million to support BMC’s efforts to build a healthier Boston. Funds raised through the Boston Marathon® support our work—much of it not reimbursed by insurance—that drives equitable health outcomes. Here are just a few examples of what philanthropy helps us do:
    • Economic Mobility: Wealth = better health outcomes. That’s why BMC created an Economic Justice Hub to offer financial coaching, pathways to jobs, free tax preparation services, and more for families when they come in for appointments.
    • Nourishing Our Community: Our hospital-based food pantry, the first-of-its-kind in the nation, distributes more than 1 million pounds of nutritious food to patients and their families each year. BMC’s Teaching Kitchen uses fresh ingredients in our healthy cooking and nutrition classes for our community. Some of the fresh produce used by these programs is grown at our two Rooftop Farms.
    • Urgent Health Needs: One in five children and adolescents in MA has a behavioral health condition, but stigma, workforce shortages, and social factors can prevent timely care. To combat the rising mental health crisis, BMC is expanding TEAM UP, an initiative integrating behavioral health into pediatric clinics in community health centers and removing barriers to care for patients in historically marginalized communities.
